Job summary

SureFire LLC in Fountain Valley, CA seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer in R&D to lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems that enhance product performance and manufacturing efficiency.

You will oversee complex projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. As a mentor to junior engineers, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize electrical designs and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Significant background in electronic circuitry, design, and analysis.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with PLM software and methodologies.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices.
• Experience with circuit design, control systems, and power distribution.
• Experience coordinating prototype builds and supporting transfer to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical components, systems, and equipment for manufacturing applications.
• Develop, implement, and maintain fixtures for testing optomechanical and electromechanical systems, including UI design and test data management.
• Lead electrical engineering projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to integrate electrical solutions.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during product development and manufacturing phases.
• Prepare detailed documentation including specifications and test plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain 6S and lean manufacturing practices in daily work.
