Job summary

SureFire, LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Advanced Products department in Fountain Valley, CA. You will lead electrical systems from concept through completion, ensuring safety and compliance while partnering with cross-functional teams to boost performance and manufacturing efficiency.

In this role you will mentor junior engineers, drive continuous improvement, and help deliver reliable, high-quality illumination tools and related products.

Qualifications

• Significant background, experience, and understanding of electronic circuitry, design, and analysis.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and methodologies.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and safety practices.
• Experience with circuit design, control systems, and power distribution.
• Experience in coordinating prototype builds and supporting the transition to the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical components, systems, and equipment for manufacturing applications.
• Develop, implement, and maintain fixtures for testing optomechanical and electromechanical systems, incl. conceptual mechanical design, sourcing, and UI/test data management.
• Lead electrical engineering projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet project goals.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to integrate electrical solutions.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during product development and manufacturing phases.
• Prepare detailed documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with coworkers, management, internal and external customers, etc.
• Execute daily process improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Maintain 6S principles in the work area.
• Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries.
