Job summary

Custom Power in Fountain Valley, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and validate circuits for battery packs, and to specify and program test equipment. You will prototype, test, and hand off circuits, interfaces and documentation to manufacturing within a cross-functional team.

The role requires a EE degree, 10+ years in electronics and 8+ years in BMS, plus experience with Altium Designer and battery charger integration. Master’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electronics technology and embedded hardware.
• 8+ years designing Battery Management Systems for battery applications.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience integrating battery charger systems into circuit designs.
• Knowledge of energy storage, battery packs, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and validation of analog and digital circuits for battery packs.
• Specification and programming of electronic test equipment.
• Prototype, test, and transition of circuits, interfaces, cables, and documentation to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers on BMS firmware and fuel gauge integration.
• Ensure compliance with UL, UN, IEC, and ITAR standards.
