Job summary

IPS-Integrated Project Services in Burlington, Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design efforts for life sciences facilities. You will manage project scope, budget, and staffing, and oversee engineers and designers across multiple projects.

The role requires 8–10 years in building design, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and strong CAD/engineering calculation skills (AutoCAD/Revit, SKM, EasyPower). PE is preferred. Travel up to 20% may be involved.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of engineering/design experience in building design (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, etc.).
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• Expertise in AutoCAD/Revit and electrical design calculations.
• Knowledge of medium voltage systems and code requirements.
• Experience overseeing engineers and designers on project teams (2–4 years).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as Project Lead across feasibility, assessments, basis of design, and detailed design.
• Define scope, budget, and staffing with the project manager.
• Prepare or review engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems.
• Review operation of existing systems and ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate document completion with clients and design professionals.
• Perform calculations for service size, short circuit, arc flash, and load studies.
• Review contractor payment applications and budgeting.
