Job summary

IPS - Integrated Project Services, LLC is seeking an Electrical Designer III in Burlington, MA to contribute to design development and documentation on life sciences facilities. You will work with CAD tools, prepare drawings, and support project teams with technical tasks across assignments.

The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of building design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, along with strong communication and code knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of design experience in the building design industry (e.g., lighting systems, fire alarm systems, branch circuitry).
• Technical or Associate Degree in design from an accredited technical institution or college.
• Experience in computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD/Revit).
• Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Lead with design development and documentation.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering documents.
• Assists with preparation of reports, specifications, plans, and supports construction.
• Sets up views/sheets in Revit or AutoCAD using established conventions.
• Selects equipment based on Project Lead recommendations and fills equipment schedules.
• Creates or modifies drawings based on markups from others.
• Researches design options and documents findings for the Project Lead.
• Keeps the Project Lead informed of workload and scope changes.
• Researches code issues and coordinates with other disciplines.
• Ensures drawings meet company quality, production, and design standards.
• Performs lighting calculations, power distribution calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Creates specialized drawings and diagrams; performs special projects as assigned.
