Job summary

TPI Global Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV in Duluth, MN, to oversee electrical design for facility expansion and maintenance capital projects. You will collaborate with third‑party firms, project management, construction, and operations to ensure designs align with specs, codes, safety rules, budgets, and schedules.

The ideal candidate has PE designation and 7+ years of experience in power systems, with expertise in 480V systems, motor controls, VFDs, and medium‑voltage

Qualifications

• 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design and commissioning.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of 480V systems and motor controls.
• Experience with VFDs, medium-voltage switchgear, and power distribution.
• PE designation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for facility expansion and maintenance capital projects.
• Support scope, schedules, cost estimates, execution plans, and risk assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations, codes, standards, and specs.
• Manage third-party engineering firms to meet budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Review and approve drawings, reports, material lists, and other deliverables.
• Evaluate vendor quotations and bid evaluations; recommend equipment and materials.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain for procurement activities.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during execution and commissioning.
• Apply lessons learned to improve future designs and outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and team members.
• Coordinate with project managers, operations, engineering firms, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ensure scope and design meet EH&S requirements.
• Support departmental initiatives and continuous improvement.
