Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks an Electrical Engineer III/Senior Engineer to support Marshall Steam Station's electrical systems. The role focuses on troubleshooting, system reliability, and capital project involvement, with on-site responsibilities and regular cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead technical assessments, maintain regulatory compliance, and coordinate with operation and maintenance teams while working within the station's engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program; master's may substitute.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience for Engineer III.
• For Senior Engineer: 6 years of related experience or 5 years plus PE.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site SME for electrical power systems.
• Monitor and trend system performance; direct testing and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate PM programs and recommend improvements; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Interface with operations, maintenance, and cross-functional departments to address system concerns.
• Coordinate with external vendors and act as SPOC for control systems.
• Support project management by defining scope, technical basis, and installation/testing requirements.
• Maintain plant risk grid and leverage fleet operating experience to improve reliability.
