Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Commercial & Industrial team in supporting complex power systems design, relay upgrades, and life-extension projects that power communities and critical infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership across multiple clients and coordinate with sales and operations to ensure successful project delivery.

Ideal candidates have PE licensure, 5+ years in primary power distribution design, and experience with AutoCAD and power system

Qualifications

ABET accredited degree in electrical engineering (BEng or MEng) with focus on power systems.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
5+ years of design engineering experience on primary power distribution, P&C schemes, and/or electrical equipment.
Experience developing relay protective setpoints and settings files.
Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, ANSI C57/C37, and NESC and related codes.
5 years of AutoCAD experience.
5 years using power systems modeling software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).
Strong communication skills to discuss technical recommendations with customers.

Responsibilities

Lead LV/MV electrical design for substations and industrial power distribution projects.
Develop specifications for medium and low voltage equipment.
Collaborate with CAD to produce One-Line drawings and schematics.
Perform short circuit and arc flash studies and review field data.
Support sales during customer site walks and coordinate with project teams.
Ensure safety protocols and project hand-offs between sales and engineering.
