Job summary

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions division seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer for the Datacenter Systems team in Raleigh, NC. The role blends office and site work with up to 25% travel to customer sites, focusing on UPS, energy storage, and power distribution design and support.

The successful candidate will lead ETO projects, develop engineering documentation, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust, compliant products. Relocation is US-based if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of electrical engineering experience or Master’s with 3+ years of experience.
• Minimum 1+ year experience with three-phase power systems or power electronics or power conversion topologies.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Lead on Engineer-to-Order projects from pre-sales through engineering, release, manufacturing and on-site commissioning.
• Review ETO tasks and determine final design based on budget, performance requirements, and shipment timeline.
• Develop electrical drawings, schematics, harness designs, BOMs and specifications for manufacturing and service.
• Collaborate with mechanical/firmware engineers and cross-functional teams to design and resolve technical challenges.
• Provide engineering designs and guidance for UPS, energy storage, power distribution, and related products to engineers and customers.
• Assist in pre-sale and post-sale technical issue resolution to support customer needs and business objectives.
• Travel up to 25% to customer sites for on-site commissioning, testing and design reviews.
