Job summary

Advanced Energy seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and develop power supplies and related electronics. You will prototype, test, and validate innovations for robust, customer-focused solutions and collaborate across teams to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 5+ years of electronics design experience, and proficiency with CAD tools and SPICE. A strong team ethic and problem-solving mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronics design.
• Experience with Cadence or Altium, Spice simulations, and scripting/test generation software.
• Proficiency with Windows-based platforms and with computer-based design and analysis tools.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; meet schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient and cost-effective circuits and power supplies per customer and regulatory specifications (analog and digital circuits, embedded controls logic, magnetics, EMI filters, power circuits).
• Interface with internal departments to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met.
• Develop analytical models, simulation tools, and other predictive methods to reduce changes on subsequent iterations of each design.
• Participate as an active part of the core team to meet schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Assist in the development, testing, and de-bugging of prototype power supply units.
• Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
