Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Power Generation. The role focuses on leading conventional power projects, delivering electrical design work and coordinating with clients and construction teams.

The position requires 11+ years of engineering experience, PE licensure, and the ability to relocate to BV offices in Overland Park, Houston, Cary, Chattanooga, Ann Arbor, or Phoenix. Hybrid work is supported after onboarding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
Active engineering registration (PE) and ability to support engineer of record.
Willingness to relocate to BV offices as listed.

Responsibilities

Lead projects as senior electrical engineer on conventional power generation projects.
Develop electrical drawings including one-line/three-line diagrams and schematics.
Size power cables and prepare BOMs for procurement and construction.
Perform load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash analyses.
Prepare man-hour budgets and project schedules.
Coordinate with clients and attend on-site meetings during construction.
Utilize ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD and ProjectWise for deliverables.
