Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead electrical designs for refining, midstream, chemical and renewable facilities. You will coordinate with project managers, multidisciplinary teams, clients and vendors through design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with budget, codes and client needs.

Responsibilities include design from concept to finish, CAD output reviews, data compilation for presentations, and field support.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree with 3–4 years of relevant experience.
• FE certification or ability to obtain within 6 months; PE preferred.
• Experience with heavy industrial facilities (oil/gas, refining, chemical, renewables).
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, API, ANSI and NEMA standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead project portions.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems from concept to design completion for heavy industrial facilities.
• Review and modify production drawings for power and process components.
• Coordinate with PMs, multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and vendors.
• Prepare data for client presentations and vendor reviews.
• Provide field support, measurements, and calculations for projects.
