Job summary
Valar Atomics is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to build and lead the electrical engineering team, owning design across LV, MV, and HV systems for a first-of-its-kind nuclear plant. You will manage the team's hiring, development, and technical direction while coordinating across Reactor, Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing, and Power Distribution programs.
You will be the senior technical voice, responsible for generator integration, protection, grid interconnection, and power system studies,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience across power generation, utility, process, or industrial projects.
- Experience leading an electrical engineering team: directing work, reviewing output, and developing engineers.
- Experience building an engineering team through direct hiring: defining roles, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build the electrical engineering team across plant areas: Reactor, Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing, Power Generation, and Power Distribution.
- Own electrical engineering delivery: power system studies, designs, specifications, construction and commissioning support.
- Own plant electrical architecture end-to-end: HV interconnection, generator integration, MV distribution, LV process and facility systems, DC/UPS.
