Job summary

Valar Atomics in Utah is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of MV/LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. You will set engineering standards, guide studies, and manage substation and protection design while engaging with clients and regulators.

You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with I&C, civil, and safety teams to deliver high‑quality, safe electrical solutions for advanced energy projects in a fast‑moving startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience leading MV/LV design programs.
• Expertise in power system analysis software (SKM ETAP) for load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash.
• Experience leading substation design from concept to detailed engineering.
• Deep knowledge of IEEE/ANSI/NEMA/CSA/IEC standards for industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead MV/LV electrical system design for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
• Direct engineering standards, studies, and substation design.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and vendors; manage bid evaluation.
• Prepare protection relay settings and coordination plots.
• Develop technical specs, review vendor drawings, witness FATs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support design reviews and safety meetings.
