Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design marine electrical systems for naval and commercial customers in Arlington, VA. You will lead concepts through construction, develop schematics and load analyses, and mentor junior engineers.

You must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, be a U.S. citizen, and bring 10+ years of marine electrical design experience. Travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in marine electrical design with a professional firm or shipyard.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret security clearance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and standards.
• Familiarity with 46 CFR, ABS, SOLAS, IEEE, IEC, and related rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
• Produce electrical design docs: diagrams, load analyses, cable schedules.
• Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
• Ensure compliance with marine/offshore standards and class rules.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and sea trials; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with mech, naval architecture and software teams.
