Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical engineering function at the Pinto Valley Mine Site. You will oversee electrical reliability, process control, and condition monitoring while supporting field troubleshooting and safety protocol updates.

You will work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize strategies, procedures, and plant performance in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5 years of electrical engineering or maintenance experience in a mining facility.
• Knowledge of safety protocols for electrical work in processing plants and open pits.
• Mining site electrical experience is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of power, control systems, PLC, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ISA, and IEC electrical codes.
• Experience conducting high voltage and power system studies.
• Proficiency with industrial automation systems (SCADA, HMI).
• Hands-on experience with mining equipment (crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, etc.).
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical maintenance strategy and procedures at Pinto Valley Mine.
• Support field troubleshooting of electrical issues and equipment faults.
• Develop and update safety protocols for electrical equipment interactions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations and engineering teams to optimize maintenance.
• Lead process control strategies and manage alarm systems.
• Oversee compliance with electrical maintenance regulations and documentation.
• Develop condition monitoring programs to support asset management.
• Represent electrical discipline in engineering reviews and cross-team coordination.
