Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Marine Electrician to support U.S. Navy equipment and C5ISR system installations in Norfolk and Newport News, VA.

The role entails fabricating and assembling electromechanical and electronic assemblies, ensuring safety, and delivering reliable shipboard electrical work. The candidate should have a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, 8+ years of relevant experience, shipyard access, and strong familiarity with NAVSEA standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma.
Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS) and pass Background Investigation and Drug Screening.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
Ability to obtain certifications.
Familiarization with NAVSEA standards in electrical repair, fabrication, and installation.
Ability to work in high heat spaces; climb shipyard stairs; kneel for cable layouts under decking.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; 80% of shift carrying/pushing 40 pounds; standing/kneeling.
Attention to safety; respirator qualification and PPE.
Willingness to travel up to 10% to various sites in the area.
Work in Norfolk and Newport News shipyards.

Responsibilities

Receive instructions and perform independently; troubleshoot and fix malfunctions.
Conduct tests/experiments; set up test setups and record data.
Construct components or simple models; adapt standard equipment.
Gather and maintain engineering data; perform calculations and plot data.
Perform routine tests and operate test equipment; record data.
Plan with experience; report to supervisor in a safe work environment.
