Job summary

Southland Industries in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a full-time, on-site role. You will lead conceptual design and perform calculations, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, or related systems.

The position requires a PE license with 8+ years of experience and strong communication skills to interact with clients and contractors. You will oversee design work, conduct site inspections, and mentor junior engineers in complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of experience including lead experience.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, fire protection, HVAC, plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide conceptual design for projects and perform calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing or other systems.
• Lead project design meetings and coordinate with project team.
• Prepare complex preliminary layouts for estimating and sizing calculations (heating/cooling, friction loss, hydraulics).
• Inspect sites for conformance with construction documents and resolve design issues.
• Supervise less-experienced engineers in HVAC, fire protection or system design.
