Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a Project Engineer to support the project team on complex HVAC/plumbing projects in Pflugerville, TX. You will serve as a lead technical resource on smaller projects and collaborate with management to keep timelines and budgets on track.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 3+ years’ experience, and proficiency with CAD and Office tools. Strong communication and plans-reading skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education/training/experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC/plumbing systems and general operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with CAD and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with management and stakeholders and informs them on issues affecting project timeline and budget.
• Manages change orders and ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Expedites materials as needed and estimates impact of project changes.
• Provides interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assembles submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procures equipment, materials, services; participates in subcontractor selection/hiring.
• Analyzes and resolves complex questions and problems as needed.
