Job summary

Above Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the technical quality of electrical designs and lead the team delivering them on schedule. You will mentor designers, interface with clients, and drive projects from proposal to completion in healthcare and other demanding environments.

This senior role requires leadership, life-safety expertise, and clear communication. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, manage workload, and help win new work while upholding client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering and project management experience.
• Professional Engineer license with active NCEES registration.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and Visual (AGI32).
• Experience with power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and electronic security systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical quality of the design on all projects and ensure on-time delivery.
• Delegate tasks across projects and manage department workload prioritization.
• Coordinate design elements with other disciplines and attend meetings.
• Interface with clients to meet needs and support business development.
• See projects through from contract to end results, meeting client standards.
• Review submittals for compliance and provide life safety analysis.
• Perform site investigations and ensure safety standards are met.
• Mentor onboarding designers and supervise staff engineers.
• Hold regular meetings to stay aligned on project changes and requests.
• Maintain project documentation and collaborate with marketing on production.
• Track metrics like utilization and QA/QC completion and manage timesheets.
• Contribute to company standards and stay current with codes and regulations.
