Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a senior electrical engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in a remote role within the U.S. This lead role requires delivering design for healthcare, education, and commercial projects, mentoring designers, and guiding engineering teams.

The candidate will oversee design development, ensure compliance with codes, and manage project delivery while interfacing with clients and internal teams. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Experience in QA/QC and independent review.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong ability to interface with clients and design team.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with engineering design programs: Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings and develop design goals.
• Provide technical leadership to designers and engineers.
• Lead or participate in project teamwork planning sessions.
• May act as project manager or engineering leader and run meetings.
• Design lighting, power, signaling, communications for healthcare, education, and commercial clients per codes.
• Prepare construction documents and guide team in drawings.
• Perform QA/QC checks on engineering documents.
• Coordinate schedules and budgets with the Project Manager to support project profitability.
• Interface with clients and design team; review RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits, verify conditions, and observe construction progress.
• Apply building and electrical codes knowledge in design.
