Job summary

Thomas Young Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for healthcare, mission-critical, and commercial buildings. You will guide power distribution, backup power, lighting, grounding, and communications, ensuring safety and code compliance.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, be a licensed PE, and bring 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong skills in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in healthcare, mission-critical, or commercial building environments.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and relevant design or calculation software.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of electrical systems for power, lighting, grounding, and communications.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Review vendor drawings, supervise installations, and support commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and review team designs for accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural partners.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and risk management.
• Provide technical input for proposals and business development efforts.
