Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Chicago seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical discipline across multiple MEP projects in commercial, healthcare, education, biotech, and transportation sectors. You will design innovative electrical systems and collaborate directly with clients to define goals and deliverables.

You'll mentor junior staff, support project managers with schedules and budgets, and ensure designs meet codes and best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years in MEP design and consulting.
• Proven project management within MEP environments.
• Strong client relationships and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of building codes and electrical systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• PE license or equivalent is preferred.
• LEED accreditation is preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit and other design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical discipline on multiple MEP projects across sectors.
• Design efficient electrical systems tailored to each project.
• Collaborate with clients to define goals and deliverables.
• Mentor junior design staff and ensure design quality.
• Assist PMs with schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and best practices.
