Job summary

Northrop Grumman Vandenberg Integration Site (VSFB) is seeking a motivated Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 3) to join our team. This on-site role supports assembly, integration, test, and launch activities for multiple launch vehicle programs in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will lead avionics system integration, work with Electrical Technicians, and develop test procedures while ensuring compliance with mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of related experience; Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
• Experience with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles.
• Basic electrical testing and diagnostic experience.
• Ability to solve problems and drive tasks to completion.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Support development and production programs at VSFB site.
• Perform launch vehicle avionics hardware & software system and subsystem level integration, test and launch operations.
• Coordinate and lead Electrical Technicians performing integration, test, checkout, operation, and maintenance of complex flight, ground testing, and launching systems.
• Hands-on electrical integration and test of flight hardware; operate and maintain electrical components and systems.
• Create, edit, review, and maintain test procedures for manufacturing and launch pad operations.
• Lead the testing and/or evaluation/validation of electrical systems.
• Coordinate and perform testing with customer, MDA, and site range and safety personnel.
• Support maintenance and upgrading of Electrical Ground Support Equipment and its network equipment.
• Troubleshoot, document, and disposition flight and test equipment discrepancies; pursue root cause actions.
• Evaluate and implement Lean solutions to decrease cycle times.
• Maintain launch day schedule and perform other duties as necessary.
