Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician (Level 4) at the Vandenberg site to support and manage assembly, integration, test and launch activities across multiple launch vehicle programs.

You will lead hands-on electrical integration, test flight hardware, and develop procedures aligned with mission requirements while coordinating with customers, safety, and MDA for critical launches.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD software.
  • Experience in launch vehicle design, integration or testing.
  • Basic electrical testing and diagnostic experience.
  • Ability to solve problems and drive tasks to completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and production programs at VSFB site.
  • Perform launch vehicle avionics hardware & software system and subsystem level integration, test and launch operations.
  • Coordinate and support Electrical Technicians performing functions supporting activities such as, integration, test, checkout, operation, and maintenance of complex electronic flight, ground testing and launching systems.
  • Hands-on electrical integration and test of flight hardware; operating and maintaining electronic or electro-mechanical, and optical communications components, circuits or systems.
  • Create, edit, review, and maintain test procedures utilized during manufacturing and launch pad operations for correctness and completeness against mission requirements, launch vehicle configuration, and component changes and modifications.
  • Support testing and/or evaluation/validation of electrical systems
  • Coordinate and perform testing with customer, MDA, and site range and safety personnel
  • Support the maintenance and upgrading of Electrical Ground Support Equipment and its associated network equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and disposition flight and test equipment hardware and software discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions
  • Evaluating and implementing Lean solutions to decrease cycle times.
  • Maintain launch day schedule by performing other duties as necessary

As a team member of the technician, integration, test, and launch operations team, the Engineering Technician 4 will support and manage various aspects of the assembly, integration, test and launch activities of multiple Northrop Grumman Launch Vehicle Programs.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD software
  • Experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles
  • Basic electrical testing and diagnostic experience
  • Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret DoD clearance
  • AS in Electrical or Systems Engineering
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman tools and processes

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $38.03 - $63.41

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
