Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer at Level 3 or Level 4 to design, develop, and execute I&T test procedures and automated scripts for spacecraft commands, telemetry, and EGSE.

The role is 100% onsite with travel as needed and requires active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate has system-level test experience with flight hardware and strong computer skills, working closely with satellite hardware and program reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience, or STEM Master’s with 3+ years, or STEM PhD with 1+ year.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• Experience with hardware or software testing and test scripting.
• Travel and support different shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop I&T test procedures, specifications, and test limits.
• Execute I&T testing, monitor tests per specification, troubleshoot, and document all test activities.
• Understands both electrical circuits and software within flight hardware and EGSE.
• Supports EGSE and flight hardware test/troubleshooting efforts with minimal oversight.
• Travel and support different shifts when required.
• Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity.
• Establish and maintain infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.
• Coordinate with ITEE team lead, electrical test conductors/technicians, and I&T managers to complete tasking.
