Job summary

Origis Energy in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead inverter-based system design for solar and storage projects. Based in our Austin office, you will set technical direction, collaborate with EPCs and OEMs, and support development through operations.

You will own inverter standards, guide electrical architecture, and help ensure grid compliance, reliability, and performance across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years of utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS experience with inverter-based systems.
• Deep understanding of inverter technology, power electronics, and utility-scale electrical systems.
• Experience across development, engineering, construction, and operations.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, UL standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for inverter and electrical system standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop design criteria and guidelines.
• Support compliance with reliability and grid requirements.
• Provide technical leadership during project execution from development to operations.
• Support construction, commissioning, testing, and start-up.
• Train and share knowledge across teams.
