Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Industrial Electrical Design team in Indianapolis. You will design and implement industrial electrical systems, control panels, MCCs, and VFDs, focusing on electrical engineering and panel design rather than PLC programming.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with clients and contractors, and help drive project execution from concept through startup in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years designing industrial control panels, MCCs, VFDs, or related electrical systems.
• Experience developing electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
• Knowledge of NEC and industrial electrical design standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control packages based on project requirements and P&IDs.
• Develop PLC I/O schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material.
• Design motor control circuits, MCC interfaces, and VFD systems.
• Develop three-line diagrams, cable schedules, and conduit layouts.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, and UL standards to project designs.
• Prepare project scopes of work, design concepts, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, internal engineering disciplines, and contractors throughout project execution.
• Support installation activities, contractor bid walks, startup activities, and I/O verification.
• Lead portions of projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Promote and uphold Matrix safety standards, project methodologies, and engineering best practices.
