Job summary
Matrix Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design PLC control panels, MCCs, and VFD panels for industrial clients in a hybrid Raleigh, NC role. You will design low-voltage systems (480VAC or less) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver turnkey solutions.
The role supports safety, standards compliance (NEC/UL), and field starts with travel up to 20–25%. Strong communication and EPC/ABET background preferred; opportunities include ESOP and competitive
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) from an ABET-accredited college or university.
- FE or PE certification preferred.
- Basic AutoCAD schematic drawing or electrical package development experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA; UL508A a plus.
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow safety practices and procedures.
- Mentor others in Matrix's standards and procedures.
- Prepare scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates.
- Design electrical control packages (PLC I/O, panels, motor schematics).
- Develop cable schedules and conduit layouts; BoM development.
- Coordinate with clients and internal disciplines to meet project needs.
- Assist in field start-ups and site visits as needed.
- Provide leadership to less experienced engineers.
