SwitchBox is looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, test, and validate electrical systems for advanced mobility and vehicle development programs. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly with hardware, solving challenging technical problems, and seeing their work come to life on vehicles, prototypes, and test systems.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Typically 3 to 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
Experience with vehicle or embedded electrical systems, including wiring and harnesses, power distribution, CAN networks, and hands-on troubleshooting.
Ability to review or contribute to schematics, PCB designs, interface control documents, and system-level electrical documentation.
Familiarity with SAE wiring and electrical design standards.
Experience designing tests, setting up equipment, collecting data, and interpreting results.
Experience or interest in vehicle high-voltage systems.
Comfortable building and debugging harnesses and working directly with electrical hardware.
Comfortable working through ambiguous technical problems and developing practical solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Interest in mentoring, training, and developing other engineers.

Responsibilities

Design and integrate vehicle electrical systems, including power distribution, wiring and harnesses, sensors, actuators, controllers, CAN networks, and high-voltage systems.
Review and contribute to schematics, PCB designs, interface control documents, logical diagrams, specifications, and engineering documentation for advanced automotive embedded controllers.
Use interface and logical diagrams to define system connections, support control system development, and coordinate engineering resources.
Design and execute electrical tests on vehicles, prototypes, benches, components, and subsystems.
Build and debug wiring harnesses, including selecting appropriate connectors, terminals, crimping tools, and assembly processes.
Perform hands-on instrumentation, troubleshooting, vehicle integration, and data analysis.
Support component selection, prototyping, validation, customer discussions, and quality-control documentation.
Work closely with electrical, controls, systems, mechanical, software, and technician teams.
Own technical workstreams and drive problems from initial identification through resolution.
Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and co-ops.
Take on increasing responsibility in technical leadership, project leadership, and potentially people management.
