Job summary

Dataspeed Inc. is seeking a hands-on Electrical Hardware Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to design electrical systems that turn conventional vehicles into autonomous platforms.

You will split time between engineering work and the vehicle garage, creating schematics, wiring harnesses, and power distributions, then installing drive-by-wire systems in a live vehicle. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, vehicle systems, or electromechanical integration.
• Proficiency in ECAD tools, harness assembly processes, and designing electrical interfaces for advanced compute modules and sensors.
• Working knowledge of CAN bus, Ethernet, serial, digital, fiber protocols and diagnostic lab equipment.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Determine precise power and load requirements, wiring, connectors to design vehicle interface harnesses and electrical components.
• Take projects from ECAD schematic to installed, debugged systems.
• Prototype through soldering, crimping, routing, and lab testing.
• Enable autonomous control of throttle, braking, steering; test CAN bus networks for reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues from design, debug, or manufacturing.
• Create and maintain ECAD schematics, BOMs, and Engineering Standards.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
