Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. invites a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Grid & Power Quality Solutions team in Raleigh, NC.

You will lead electrical engineering activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver complex projects from concept to commissioning. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of experience, strong NEC/ANSI knowledge, and familiarity with FACTS, STATCOM, and high-voltage substations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BS, MS, or PhD).
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Experience with FACTS, STATCOM, power quality, or utility transmission.
• Knowledge of high-voltage substations and utility engineering practices.
• Experience with GIS substations, protection and control systems, and electrical schematics is a plus.
• Excellent technical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Develop innovative solutions while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Design and execute projects per NEC/ANSI/IEEE standards and client requirements.
• Prepare and review specifications, RFPs, and manufacturing packages.
• Support planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive success.
• Review supplier deliverables and support procurement of electrical equipment.
• Provide technical support during testing, installation, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
