Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer - Generation Electrical & Controls to support wind and solar generation projects, PLC/DCS/SCADA controls, and plant reliability across WA and MT. The role blends field and office work in hybrid settings, requiring preventive maintenance planning, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with protective relaying, arc flash awareness, and the ability to mentor

Qualifications

Experience with wind or solar generation projects.
Experience with low and medium voltage electrical systems.
Protective Relay experience, including NERC compliance.
Possession of, or ability to acquire, a Professional Engineering license.
Industrial Controls plus SEL RTAC experience; industrial networking and NERC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Support commissioning and troubleshoot issues related to wind/solar generation, instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA, and plant equipment.
Propose upgrades and design improvements for control systems.
Manage projects from scope to close-out, including budget, schedule, commissioning and documentation.
Prepare specifications and evaluate vendor proposals; contribute to maintenance plans and procedures.
Mentor other engineers and technicians; support emergency response and restoration efforts.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
