Job summary

Redwood Materials in California seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer, Energy Storage to design the LV system architecture and system controller PCBA for high‑power energy storage products, interfacing with battery packs, PV systems, and the grid. On-site role at 100 Hooper or LH 2, collaborating across Mechanical, Firmware/Controls, and Validation teams.

The candidate will own MCU selection, communication protocols, protective circuits, lab validation, and achieve industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Embedded systems and power electronics focus with strong control architecture background.
• Hands-on experience designing MCU-based system controllers and selection budgeting.
• Knowledge of CAN/Ethernet and high‑power electrical safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own LV electrical system architecture for power electronics products.
• Design and integrate system controller hardware including MCU selection and protocols.
• Design isolated sensing circuits and auxiliary power supplies.
• Coordinate protective circuits and high-voltage safety at system level.
• Define LV wiring, grounding, and interconnect strategy across modules.
• Lead electrical testing and validation for PCBA and power products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet certifications (IEEE 1547, UL 1741).
