Job summary

Redwood Materials Inc. seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer, Energy Storage BoP to lead balance-of-plant studies, specify major electrical gear, and design protection for large-scale storage systems on site.

You will model AC/DC systems with the storage team, develop relay coordination, and create design docs; travel may be required with a potential hybrid arrangement based on experience.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization.
• 5+ years of experience performing power system analysis including protection and coordination.
• Proficiency in ETAP is required; SKM/EasyPower preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review balance-of-plant power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and transformer energization.
• Develop, review, and validate protective relay coordination studies and relay settings.
• Size and specify major electrical equipment for energy storage systems (transformers, breakers, inverters, UPS).
• Create and maintain detailed power system models using ETAP / SKM / EasyPower.
• Prepare clear engineering reports and design documentation for internal/external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with energy storage team; travel may be required; hybrid arrangement possible depending on experience.
