Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer for Energy Storage BoP, primarily on-site with potential hybrid arrangements. The role focuses on power system studies, equipment specification, and protection design for large-scale energy storage systems, with some travel expected.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in power systems, advanced degree, and strong ETAP/SK, EasyPower experience. This position supports Redwood's battery recycling and energy storage initiatives in the U.S.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience performing power system analysis, including protection and coordination studies.
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power systems.
Strong foundation in fault calculations, arc flash, cable sizing, and protective device coordination.

Responsibilities

Perform and review balance-of-plant power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, DC/AC arc flash, transformer energization, motor starting, and harmonic analysis.
Develop protective relay coordination studies and settings; coordinate with MV/HV systems.
Create and maintain detailed power system models using ETAP, SKM, and EasyPower; prepare engineering reports and design documentation.
