Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering across regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams. You will serve as the senior technical reviewer for complex, high-risk electrical systems, assuring technical quality and scalable engineering standards.

Responsibilities include guiding electrical strategy from concept to commissioning, maintaining global standard designs, and mentoring engineers while collaborating with multiple functions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering across data center design and construction teams.
• Review complex, high-risk electrical systems to assure technical quality.
• Develop and maintain global standard designs and Basis of Design documents.
• Lead technical evaluations for utility interconnections, HV/MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS, battery energy storage, grounding and power-quality performance.
• Drive equipment and operational reliability; partner with Supply Chain on OFCI; lead root-cause investigations to feed lessons learned into global standards.
• Partner cross-functionally and mentor engineers; collaborate across Design Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Solutions Engineering.
• Typically 10+ years of experience with data center, mission-critical, or major capital programs.
• Deep domain expertise in critical power systems, power-system studies, protective relay coordination, codes/standards, and commissioning requirements.
• Credible negotiation and communication skills with consultants, equipment manufacturers, and cross-functional leadership.
