Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering across our regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams. In this role, you will serve as the senior technical reviewer for complex, high-risk electrical systems, assuring technical quality, resolving discipline risks, and establishing scalable engineering standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with data center, mission-critical, or major technical capital programs.
• Deep domain knowledge of critical power systems, power-system studies, protective relay coordination, codes/standards, utility interconnections, and commissioning requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering across regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams as senior technical reviewer to assure quality and resolve risks.
• Guide electrical strategy, design criteria, assurance plans, and review gates for major data center builds from concept through commissioning.
• Develop and maintain global standard designs and Basis of Design documents; govern discipline deviations within delegated authority.
• Lead technical evaluations for utility interconnections, HV/MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, battery energy storage, grounding/earthing, and power-quality performance.
• Drive Equipment & Operational Reliability by partnering with Supply Chain on OFCI equipment and leading root-cause investigations for major incidents.
• Mentor and collaborate across Design Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Solutions Engineering; perform peer reviews with less experienced engineers.
• Balance power architecture, electrical resilience, capital costs, efficiency, and schedule risks; demonstrate credible negotiation and communication with consultants, equipment manufacturers, and cross-functional leadership.
