Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering across regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams. You will serve as the senior technical reviewer for complex, high‑risk electrical systems, ensuring technical quality and scalable standards.

You will mentor engineers, influence consultants, and drive outages, reliability, and modernization initiatives while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience with data center, mission-critical, or major technical capital programs.
• In-depth knowledge of critical power systems, power-system studies, protective relay coordination, codes/standards, interconnections, and commissioning requirements.
• Proven ability to balance power architecture, electrical resilience, capital costs, efficiency, and schedule risks.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical strategy, design criteria, assurance plans, and review gates for major data center builds, campus phases, customer deployments, and upgrades from concept through commissioning.
• Review consultant designs, calculations, specifications, and submittals; develop and maintain global standard designs and govern deviations.
• Analyze power and utility systems including HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, batteries, grounding, and power-quality performance.
• Drive equipment and operational reliability by partnering with Supply Chain on OFCI equipment and leading root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate across Design Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Solutions Engineering to resolve interfaces and mentor junior engineers.
