Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Westerville, Ohio to contribute to new product releases and lead cross-functional development efforts. You will mentor engineers, manage multiple tasks, and solve complex problems with limited precedent.

The role involves designing CRAC components, CAD work, BOM creation, and collaborating with mechanical, process, and production teams to meet cost and performance goals. Strong leadership and communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of experience in new product development as an individual contributor.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members.
• Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding of the product development process.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0 or equivalent, with knowledge of NEC (NFPA70), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB.

Responsibilities

• Design new CRAC products and lead cross-functional reviews.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process, production, and offering teams.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
• Create and review electrical layouts, schematics, and wire harnesses for electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Develop BOMs and product definitions in PLM for reuse and manufacturing.
• Lead engineering tasks to meet project timelines and guide other engineers.
