DC Power Product Engineer — Customer-Facing Leader

Job summary

Vertiv in Westerville, OH is seeking a Product Engineer to serve as the customer-facing technical authority for the Data Center DC Power portfolio. You will translate customer requirements into actionable engineering specifications and provide technical leadership across Sales, Service, and Account Management.

You will own dedicated product segments including 800V Sidecar Solutions, 800V Power Center Solutions, and In-Rack Power Shelves & Solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience; 2–4 years may be considered for exceptional candidates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities across stakeholders.
• Proficiency generating schematics, block diagrams, and technical illustrations.
• Ability to respond to technical support and execution tasks quickly and accurately under time pressure.
• Comfortable engaging directly with customers at all levels, from technicians to leadership.
• Strong analytical thinking to evaluate customer applications and propose sound solutions.
• Knowledge of UL, IEC, NEC, and NFPA 855; understanding electrical and mechanical design elements.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate customer technical requirements into inputs for product development.
• Lead RFQ proposals, including schematics, block diagrams, and MCAD/ECAD files.
• Contribute to product design reviews and ensure alignment between customer needs and engineering.
• Create and oversee customer-facing technical documentation such as manuals and guides.
• Deliver product training to internal and external customers including Sales, Service, and Manufacturing.
• Provide technical field support and liaison between customers and Engineering.
• Communicate market and customer feedback to drive product development via stage-gate process.
• Collaborate with Product Management on strategy, questions, and roadmap input.
• Support trade shows, customer site visits, and technical presentations.
• Maintain product configurator BOM structure and NPDI deliverables.
