Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to establish electrical requirements, interpret codes, assess risks, and support multi-disciplinary project teams across various delivery models.

You will engage with project leaders, planners, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable electrical solutions while upholding GM standards. Hybrid work arrangements support collaboration across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field is required.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Demonstrated depth in electrical power systems, distribution, grounding, and code applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for electrical planning, design, and project execution across major capital projects.
• Interpret and apply NFPA 70, NEC, and GM electrical standards to ensure safety, reliability, and code compliance.
• Review calculations, studies, and drawings to identify gaps and drive technical decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and operations to align scope, cost, and schedule.
• Support planning studies, concept reviews, and value engineering discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve interfaces and risks.
