Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Electrical Design Automation Engineer to lead the integration, extension, and automation of Siemens Capital toolchains and related systems. You will drive plugins, APIs, and AI-enabled workflows that improve design quality, enable traceability, and accelerate release.

Reporting to Warren, MI, this hybrid role requires collaboration across electrical engineering, software, manufacturing, IT, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in electrical design, harness engineering, or design automation.
• Experience developing software, scripts, plugins, or automated workflows.
• Experience with Siemens Capital or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, C++, Java, or JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Architect integrations across Siemens Capital toolchain and adjacent systems.
• Define data models, interfaces, and transformation rules across representations.
• Develop plugins, APIs, and automation to improve design workflows and release readiness.
• Build AI-enabled workflows to reduce manual effort and scale engineering.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
