Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Detroit, MI office to provide high-level technical guidance across utility, industrial, and commercial projects.

You will lead design tasks, develop electrical infrastructure layouts, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with clients and regulators to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in engineering and electrical design.
• Proficient with electrical codes, design, and permitting processes.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure planning and construction management.
• Strong written and speaking communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design single line diagrams and distribution equipment layouts.
• Lead junior engineers and review vendor drawings and documents.
• Develop electrical calculations including loads, short-circuit studies, and protective coordination.
• Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients on plans and permits.
• Provide guidance and leadership, supervise team members, and ensure QA/QC.
