SmithGroup's Detroit office seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead comprehensive electrical design for large-scale building projects. You will guide power distribution, lighting design, and fire alarm systems while coordinating with studio leaders and other disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in building electrical design, PE registration, and a proven record of leading electrical teams on education, science, healthcare, and mission-critical projects.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required or anticipated.
• Minimum 15 years of experience as an electrical engineer in building design and construction.

Mansioni

• Independently provide the full range of electrical engineering services on projects and lead others to achieve objectives.
• Lead analysis, design, and documentation of medium and large building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm).
• Manage timelines and workflows across multiple complex projects.
• Engage with Studio Leaders and other disciplines to market services and contribute to proposals and thought leadership.
• Supervise design work and perform quality control to ensure integrated, innovative outcomes.
• Present engineering solutions to clients and review committees; address discipline issues with clients and project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching and recruiting as requested.
