HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Building Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on leading electrical design for building projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring code compliance.

Ideal candidates bring a minimum of 10 years in electrical design for buildings, a PE or P.Eng license, and strong proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office. HDR emphasizes an employee-owned culture and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Requires professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng).
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signaling, life safety, and BMS.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with electrical design software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers within a multidiscipline team on projects.
• Lead electrical on projects; engage in client relations and design/production meetings.
• Participate in code-compliance reviews with governing agencies.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions on-site with PMs and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules and manage finances.
• Direct and mentor other electrical engineers and staff; perform other duties as needed.
