Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design on building projects in the Houston area. You will coordinate electrical teams, engage with clients, and ensure code-compliant designs across schematic, development, and construction phases.

The role requires a PE license and 10+ years of experience in electrical design for buildings, with strong skills in REVIT, AutoCAD, and power systems analysis. This on-site position sits within HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Professional Engineer license recognized by the licensing board for the position location

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers within a multidisciplinary team across the project
• Establish client relations and participate in meetings related to electrical systems
• Lead electrical design on multiple projects and mentor staff as needed
• Conduct reviews for code compliance with governing agencies
• Perform schematic, design development and contract document work sessions
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules
• Monitor project financials and align team efforts with the budget
