Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems to help design and deliver grid-scale energy storage projects in the United States. You will collaborate with civil, structural, fire & life safety, high‑voltage electrical, SCADA/telecom, water and geotechnical teams to produce complete construction packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from conceptual layouts to issue-for-construction packages.
• Evaluate energy storage tech, assist with vendor selection and include microgrid/distributed energy resources designs.
• Develop design plans, specs, cost estimates and construction documents at milestones.
