Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Aviation & Federal global practice in Kansas City. You will design building electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting, and support projects for airports, DoD, and DoE clients.

Collaboration with architects and engineers will be key to delivering integrated design solutions. The role requires ABET-accredited electrical engineering degrees, FE exam, and relevant experience, with opportunities across diverse

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program; 3 years electrical engineering experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology with FE exam and 3 years experience; consulting experience preferred.
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years experience; consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design building electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and low-voltage systems.
Provide technical support on airport, federal, and defense projects ensuring code compliance and performance.
Coordinate with architects and engineers for integrated design solutions; participate in design reviews.
