Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer for the Sentinel AVE SE&I Team in Manhattan Beach, CA. You will lead a team of electrical engineers, oversee system wiring diagrams, layouts, and power analysis to deliver the Sentinel missile’s electrical products.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, strong leadership, and experience with CAM and cross‑organizational collaboration. The position emphasizes timely delivery, quality, mentoring, and programmatic guidance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with substantial related experience or advanced degrees with relevant discipline.
Experience leading cross-organizational collaboration and performance reviews.
Control Account Management (CAM) experience is required.
Electrical design and/or electrical integration experience is required.

Responsibilities

Provide organizational, programmatic, and technical guidance for AVE scope of work.
Drive on-time delivery of AVE electrical designs and products to support timelines.
Ensure staffing, equipment, and training to meet program requirements.
Perform earned value management as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
Coach and mentor key talent for increased responsibilities and succession planning.
Promote a culture of quality through standards and best practices.
Support risk and opportunity management across engineering deliverables.
Brief status, risks, and challenges to senior leadership.
